SCGH is 4km from the city centre, conveniently located next to Kings Park, between the CBD and Cottesloe Beach.  The surrounding suburbs are all very pleasant and safe places to live. They are home to some of Perth’s best performing public and private schools.  There is good public transport to the hospital. For those who cycle to work, the surrounding suburbs generally provide easy cycling routes. SCGH has a dedicated, locked bicycle storage room with shower facilities and the department has its own bike rack just outside of the operating theatre change rooms.
